    Plate light popping Fuse

Now that I get out of work when Its dark i am figuring out why my rear plate lights don't work. The fuse pops when i hook up power and ground to at the end of that harness.

While trouble shooting, I get power at both sides of the bulb holder which seems odd. I pulled the harness and it doesn't look like there is any spot that wires are crossed. Any thoughts?

Check for chafed wires where the wire bundle cilips to the hinge and goes through the hole into the frame of the hood.

    Rich,

Checking that out now.... though I notice that the socket is held in with two screws to the engine lid. Are there supposed to be insulators that prevent the screws from grounding?

    Joe,
a 6 pack of beer says that your screws are too long and are touching the contacts in the light assy when you tighten them up. Take the screws out and I bet the fuse wont blow. Replace with shorter screws.

Took me two years to figure that one out. When I bought my car, I just assumed that something was wrong w' the wiring. PO decided to use stainless screws that were about 1/8" too long.

    I like Belgian Whites, BTW
