FS: Rare IWC Porsche Design chronograph

IWC Porsche Design Chrono 02; Reference no. 3701

This watch is among the rarest of the Porsche Design watches ever sold in the US. It was introduced in the 1980’s and sold, for a brief time, at Porsche Design boutique stores located in major cities across the country. I purchased it new from the store in Dallas, Texas.

Unlike the Orfina watches that preceded it and the Eterna made watches that followed it, this watch was made by one of the most respected watch companies in the world. It was the lightest chronograph ever made upon it's introduction, with a case made from aluminum alloy and a delrin band. It is very comfortable to wear and changes to the band size can be made in a few seconds, using a special tool (glorified small screwdriver) that somes with the watch. Interestingly, this watch is also the most accurate watch that I have ever owned, and I own a bunch of watches.

It comes with its original box, the bracelet tool and papers. There a few very small touch-ups to the case coating around the inner edges of the bezel and there are a few scratches on the links of the band and the clasp. The dial and crystal are near mint. The overall condition is very good to excellent. $2,000.

    Thanks,
    Jeff
