74 Gulf Blue 911 Coupe 35K miles Preservation Class

I saw this car and my mouth dropped. I am listing this for my good friend Sid Collins, Owner of Troy Sport. Please contact me for additional information or photos since the guy is running a business and doesn't have much free time. The car just won the Winter Park Concours. Take this one to Chicago and bring home a trophy. The air pump is still in the unopened bag!

    Here is the description Sid gave me;

    1974 Porsche 911
    mileage 34,821
Gulf Blue w/ blue blk. interior
    Porsche Side Script
Car has the S options > S brakes and Koni shocks

    73 "S" OE oil cooler

    Fuchs wheels

    No AC / No sunroof

    Chrome brightwork w/ vent windows

I have rebuilt engine and updated (I want no excuses about the 2.7)

    - carrera oil pump new

    - case has been thyme certed

    - new bearings / chains / rails

    - new oil lines

    - solid chain tensioners (because car will sit for extended periods)(they can't fail)

Engine has proper early exhaust (not thermo reactors like the 75 and on)

Car has always beed garaged :
I purchsed the car from one of the original family members (the son)

I believe it had been passed in the family twice so I should be the 3rd (?)
father ordered car - killed in fighter crash - family took delivery - never driven much
5 years ago they asked me if I would take it/ buy it
I said ok as the car was one of the 1st 911's I had dealt with or been involved with (this before I moved to Orlando)
(purchased and has never been out of Fla.)

Wow, very nice! Is that the real market for a 74 in that condition? Well, that speaks well for my 75 then. Good luck with the sale - looks like someone will get a spectacular car.

Actually, the '74 2.7 wasn't a bad engine. The later cars with Thermal Reactors were the "troubled children". They were all hard on valve guides but otherwise not a bad cars.

Gulf Blue/Black is a nice color combination.

    Good luck,

    Tom

I love this car! My dad had the very same color combo when I was 15. Bought it new in 1974. It was the first Porsche I ever drove. It was also the first one I spun out. Lost a girl friend and my Dad's trust for a while on that episode...

    Jeffy, Jeff, Jeff, Jeff,
You'd already lost the girl ...... the "spin" was just her exit excuse

At least that is one spin you couldn't blame on me

Pretty good chance you're right about her, Chuck. We all need an excuse now and again for our actions...like that time we were headed into the "Boot" at Watkins Glen and you claimed a tap from me is what put you and your big Lexus on it's roof! I could have sworn it was the bad judgement that you could out brake me in my BMW. I still get a chuckle out of seeing you sliding across the track, sparks flying off the roof grinding along the pavement in my rear view mirror...

    Good times to be sure!

Yeah, but don't forget that I still passed that Miata proving that a Lexus is still faster on its roof than a Mazda on its wheels.
