The part number for the 73 Aux front cooler is correct but what is pictured is 046 radiator not the 047 loop. Gordon

    Gordon is right....

I beleive what's pictured is a '72 (one year only) BIG fitting/small radaitor type cooler.

I retro-fitted one (along w/'74 type and later hard lines) on my car about 18 years ago.

    Oil Cooler Part Number

I appreciate the feedback but I'm a little confused. Another board member posted a link to the PET. The part number for the '73 oil cooler was 911.107.041.00 which aligns with the one being sold at http://www.sierramadrecollection.com..._detail&p=4293
    and the online PET http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf...73_KATALOG.pdf

Is the BEHR cooler sold at Sierra for roughly 1200 $US the "right" cooler.

    Thanks.

    Oooops,

    Sorry Dave,

Your question was confusing with the addition of the PET picture....

There is an 'on the engine' (internal) cooler (the one pictured in the Sierra link)
And an 'in the wheel well' (optional / external) cooler (the '72 that is pictured in the PET)

The optional '73 external cooler was a 'trombone/loop cooler...

Hope this clears up some confusion

    Oil Cooler

Thanks Chuck. I was unaware that there was an "on engine" option in '73. I appreciate the clarification.

    Oooops 2,

    Dave,

The cooler on the engine was/is compulsory, the one in the wheel well with it's lines and thermostat was optional for '73 .....

However, some pre-'73 early S's came with external coolers.

Hope this helps a little more.....

    Cheers
