    245/250 mm Fan Blade

Outside of pure measurement, are the any markings/numbers on the fan that represents the different fan sizes. I just picked up a new 5R housing and fan blade that are in great shape. I sourced them from different people and never thought about the fan size difference. I put the fan inside of the housing and it seems very snug. It turns, but rubs. That could be because it is not mounted. I hope I did'nt blow this one.!

There is very little clearance between a (matched) fan & housing anyway - I would be surprised if there's as much as 5mm difference between the overall diameter of the fan & the internal diameter of the housing - so I don't think a 250mm fan would even fit inside a 245mm fan housing.

Having said that, I haven't tried it ...

    Hi,

In case it helps a 250 fan will not fit in a 245 housing without modification.

Pfeeeew. Thanks for the help. I think you are right. I think it is a 245 mm fan.

Just out of curiousity, where is the measurement taken? Inside of the housing, or outside of the blade.

My understanding is from the front and from blade end to blade end. Some have said to measure it by halves and doing that from the middle section where the mounting nut goes to the blade end.
