    73T Engine Details

Anybody have any picture of an orginal 73.5T engine. I really need to see the type of hardware was used on the engine. Mostly the intakes etc.

    Thanks,

    Tony,

Any particlular part of the engine? I will try and get Richard to take some pictures of my 73.5 Targa when he comes by to pick up the 902 trans before he heads to Louisville Saturday.

As close as I can tell the Targa engine is pretty close to stock.

    John,

Mostly what I'm looking for is the style of nuts used to hold down the intake to the heads this one has lock nuts (exhaust style) just want to make sure that isn't correct...

    Thanks,
    Tony

Tony, let me know if this shows what you need to see. The nuts, which I'm pretty sure are original, are the split steel type prevailing torque nuts, like what was used on the SCs.

    Tony,

My 73.5 has the same nuts attaching the intake runners to the head as the ones in Tom's picture. Does that give you what you need?

It's great that you are restoring a 73.5 CIS ...I'm also very interested in the original engine details...any more photos? I did not know that the valve covers were left "natural" when I get my valves adjusted this spring I'll have the covers stripped. Thanks, Ron

No, the valve covers on my car are later type - I got sick of oil leaks. My car came with (and I still have on a shelf) the familiar magnesium black coated valve covers, top and bottom.
