    Smile Thanksgiving ‘09

    This was the second time I traveled in my old Chevy Malibu for my annual Northern California Thanksgiving vacation.

    I always seem to sneak in some Early Porsche stuff along the way……. Go figure

    With Stephen and Fred in the little blue coupe and me in Steve's '71S Targa our first stop in Niello Porsche just outside Sacramento.......

    It's GREAT to see the old cars on display in the same showroom as the new.........

    Harvey mentioned that Rob Monnastes just finished stripping the ex-John Audette '73S for it's new owner... and was towing it up from Carmel to David Pollard's body and paint shop in Chico. Well, Chico is where I spend my Thanksgiving with friends... so a few days later I called David to come to his shop.

    As luck would have it I ended up following Rob for the last two blocks of his 3 hour tow from Carmel..........

    I know this 'Factory Rally Flared' '73S quite well when Nic Roveda owed it here in SoCal........

    This is a GREAT car and the guys are bringing it back to its original tangerine.

    You can clearly see the way the Germans 'slit/welded/hammered/and stretched' these unique fenders......
