    Price Check: 1973 RS motor

Any input on the real value of a genuine 73 RS 2.7 motor that is from a lightweight M471 car. Motor is 100% original and detailed. Complete and correct rebuild front to back. Please send a PM if you have an opinion.
    Thanks

with a documented rebuild probably north of 30K, have you tried to see which chassis # it went with. The current owner would probably have the most interest.

Just curious, when you say 100% original, do you mean it was rebuilt to original specifications using the same components (where possible)?

Original to signify an unmolested example, correct fuel pump, stacks, tin, hardware, etc....bolt in ready to go.

Shame it's from a lwt, I would have LOVED this to be Pesto's original motor. Just think how that would muddy it further!

I have heard of high prices but from "open sources" not much. I saw a unrestored 73 engine sold on eBay.de for 9 000€. A all resto with detailing is more than 200 hours of work. Parts are at least 3500€.

I tried to sell a case to a well known collector a few years ago. It was high profile restoration. But they where not interested. I guess they build a new engine based on a blank engine case...
