    71E resto..update XX, it's in there.

Monday was a big day. installed the engine in my 71E. Still needs some plumbing, routing etc......but it is in there. I included a before pic, for contrast.

Al, I really hate to be a wet blanket after all your nice work, but I think you've installed your sound pad backwards, the foam side is what should be glued to the panel. The smooth black side is the "show" side. Happy new year anyway

Either way,it will flame-up if there is an engine room fire and cause the most damage. My nine twelve had a back fire and the new engine sound pad burned up all the way!and burned up the engine room real good! Don`t know if there is another option to this sound deadning other than no soundeadning at all,Cliff

    Cliff,
That's what originally sidelined this car. An engine fire at 80K miles. I bought it as a roller, with the engine and tranny out.

It moves under it's own power.

This is a milestone....after 2 years....I drove it out of the garage and washed it. Still needs Brakes bled, clutch adjusted and numerous details, but......and it's a big butt...it's alive.

PS excuse the crappy cell phone pix, but my camera bit the dust.

    Congrat's Al.
Lord knows how many of us have had the pain and pleasure of resurrecting an early 911. It is a gratifying experience in the end, but along the way, there is always a reality check or two. Break the motor in gently if its a fresh rebuild, and let the rings settle in. Then run it like a raped ape after the 1k break in period and valve adjustment...
    PS Bleed the brakes first...
