69 Driver's Floor Board - What do I Have Here?

Help again guys... So I go in to replace my driver's floor board on my very early 69 as the one that is in there is a cobbled POS. This one was listed as a 69-73 LWB floor board and is in great shape. So I go to install it and the fit is not perfect. I jockey this thing around and I just can't get it to fit.

The threaded piece in the floor pan is missing the hole in the floor board by about a 1/4" or so - and the board is as far up as the top brackets will allow. Then I push the clutch in and with the stop bar moved all the way to the top, I still can't push the clutch in (to what seems) all the way.

So, I start thinking, what the hell...? Do I have the wrong floor board? I pull it out and lo and behold, it is not an exact match with the current one. The pedal holes an shaped just a little different, the portion on the lower left that protrudes on the pictured board is not on my current one (it is just a rounded corner), and the attach point is only a semicircular cutout with no supporting metal bracketry. The current board secures with a loose bracket.

So what do I have here? Is it correct for 69-73? Maybe my very early MY build used a different floor board. Sorry for the long explaination, but I could use a little help.

    Hi Scott,

The only differences I know about in pedal boards per year is: Targa and Coupe are different, sporto and manual are different and obviously RHD to LHD.

Alan, thanks - that is what I thought. I checked my 71 and this FB is identical to that one. The one in my 69 is definitely different and this FB shown here is a close fit, but will not work. I have heard that the really early MY69's were a little different in some respects than later in the MY. I wonder if this is one of those occasions. I should post a photo of my crappy FB in the 69 for reference.

    Scott,

Let me know if you would like some other angles before I put the carpet and mats back.

Bob, awesome of you to do that for me - thank you! Yes, yes, yes, the early 69MY driver's FB is different - if only slightly. I wonder if all 69's are like that or if they changed later in the MY. Looks like I am back to square one. Now I need both FB's. Aircraft spruce plywood would do the trick, but the bend causes a problem.

Stoddards has the originals. Is that a moisture problem? Your going to delaminate if you don't fix it. I used wood glue and pressed it together worked well.
