    CoA says Air-Conditioner

    Hello Forum -

I just got my CoA from PCNA (the car is a 1971E sequence number 699 )- To some extent anti-climatic given the info provided. A search on the site leads me to believe that perhaps I am not the only one to feel this way.

Here is what I got =

    1971 911E Coupe
Production date - Info not available -
    MSRP - not available
    Engine No/Type-
6211071 - car currently has 2.2 911S motor with it
    Transmission No/Type-
116479 must be with the oem motor !
    Exterior paint -
Signal orange/14- Knew that from tag and paint
    Interior material /type
    Black leatherette/11

    Optional Equipment :
    US equipment ?
Tinted heated rear window -Two Stage
    Blaupunkt radio 'Frankfurt'
    (US Band)
    Air Conditioner
    Tinted Windshield
Uniroyal tires ( now here is something i was dying to know.

While the CoA states that the car came with and Air-Conditioner - How do I verify this - the obvious evidence has long since departed ( or was never there ?) Can someone point me to identifying mark(s) on the tub that would show where the AC was installed.

The CoA does not list a MFG date which, frankly astounds me, is this typical -

Any additional insights would be helpful and appreciated , not sure what to think at this point.

    Regards

    George

The only identifier that would most likely still be there is a hole in the footwell on the passenger side that opens into the smuggler's box. If it looks like a 10 year old did it, then it was dealer installed, clean and neat, factory. I have a dealer installed in mine.

Factory install would also likely have a hole in the trunk near the front for the condenser fan to blow through the coils. This was not the case for the dealer installs.

Look on the rear and front fender wells on the driver's side for clamps that hold the hoses. Most likely removed, unless the screws were stuck.

    Hi O,

Thanks for the pointer - I have attached a picture but to my un-trained eyes this looks like a factory cut hole ( using fixture and looking like there remnants of a gasket) -

In the short term I don't see myself installing AC. I'd rather put the money against making the car handle and stop better - Speaking of which anybody know where to get a set of those all important uniroyal tires listed in the CoA

Yes, that is certainly evidence of a factory installed A/C. Wish mine was that clean of a cut.

Good luck on the tire search
