    Bosch Coil 001 versus 006

The LWB cars use the Bosch coil P/N ending in 001. It looks like the next generation 74-77 used an identical Bosch coil with a P/N ending in 006. Can you interchange these i.e. use a 006 coil on an early car? The three pin CDI is the same from 69 thru 77, no? I picked up a 006 coil and would like to use it as a spare, but don't want to unless I am sure I won't screw something up.

There was a thread on this about two years ago.

There was a thread about the three pin CDs breaking down. The ones ending in 01 were better than the 06s but I can't find that one, it may have been on Pelican.

The black coils can be used on NA 69-83 cars and turbos from 76-89, if that helps.

I actually found a spare black one on eBay and it came with a bracket, wire with cover, and nice stickers for only $10. Was a great deal.

    Bosch Coil 001 versus 006

Scott, although I don't remember the part numbers, I thought the 74-77 coils used a plug on wire attachment instead of the previous stud and nut method. They were the same electrically however.
