    Vintage Momo Steering Wheels

I'm thinking of fitting a new (old) vintage wheel to my SWB and I have the opportunity to purchase one of these Momo wheels. They're from the late 60's - early 70's and I'm trying to find out what a fair market value is. The Monza is 350mm and Prototipo is 370mm NOS…..I don't have the size for the Sebring. Any advise would be helpful.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
That Monza looks like a 320mm diameter. If you compare the top photos by looking carefully at the relationship between the size of the hub opening and the overall diameter sizes, you will see that the Monza hub opening looks larger. Actually they are the same size but it just looks larger. Another tell tale sign: the grip of the Monza and Sebring should be pretty equal but the Monza looks bigger. This is only because that's what it looks like when you place a 320mm photo next to a 350mm photo.

The Sebring looks to be a 350.

Value: It's a tough call but if the Monza is actually a 320, it's value would be less than the Sebring and prototipo. (It is a second generation Monza) Looks to be in nice condition though. I would say between. $300 and $600. The small diameter is not for everyone so I would be sure first before proceeding.

Sebring: Looks like there might be a stress score or two but still looks pretty nice. I would place it's value at between $450-650 or perhaps a bit more.

Prototipo: If it really is a NOS 370, it's very rare. Even though it's a second generation I would value it at between $500-1200.

The final price all depends on who's selling.
    Best of luck
    Regards, Mark

    Mark,

How did I know that you would be first to jump to help when it comes to vintage steering wheels?

Must have been a lucky guess on my part.

Hi Mike. I hardly care to admit on a public forum; but I think I might have an addiction.

I expected to run in to you on of couple of runs this past year. How have you been?

Those are all great wheels. But I'm dying for that 370mm Prototipo. You're a lucky man to have this decision to make.
