    DFW Cars & Coffee/24 Hour 1/30/10

Jack Griffin and Morrie Larsen have been working on a longhood gathering within Cars & Coffee for Jan 30.
This will include a Breakfast get together prior, Lunch after, and a visit to the famous Jack Griffin Garage after lunch for the start of the 24 hour. Here is the notice Morrie posted on the 912 board with all the details.

Dallas Cars and Coffee meets at 6800 Dallas Parkway, Plano TX 75024 (http://dallas.carsandcoffee.info/). November's Cars & Coffee drew 661 cars and amazingly most all the spaces fill by about 8:30 A.M.
We plan to meet around 7:00 am at "The Egg and I" so we can drive in together.

    The Egg & I
15203 Knoll Trail Drive, Ste 103
    Dallas, TX 75248
    469-375-0750

It's a great breakfast place that is just off the Dallas North Tollway about a block east of tollway at Arapaho exit. It is at the N.W. corner of Arapaho & Knoll Trail Dr. It has plenty of parking for us and Jack Griffin will be there about am. It is about 5-8 minutes south of the location of Cars & Coffee.

If you are going to go in directly, you need to be at the Dallas Cars and Coffee event by no later than 7:45 am to help secure a spot. Any later than that would mean it would be difficult to park together. Cars generally start pouring in around 8.

By 12 Noon we will plan to muster for lunch at the Spring Creek BBQ:
    Spring Creek BBQ
    12835 Preston Road
    Dallas, TX 75230-1277
    (972) 726-9002
    http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&so...ed=0CAgQ8gEwAA

Then off to Jack's garage!!! at 6007 Northaven Rd. (N.E. corner of Preston Rd. & Northaven Rd.), just down (south) Preston Rd from Spring Creek BBQ. When you arrive at Northaven Rd & Preston Rd. (red light) take a right turn; the most convenient parking is at the church on the S.W. corner of Northaven & Preston, in the parking lot that fronts on Northaven. We have permission from the church to park here. Then, walk across Preston Rd. to the N.E. corner, which is Jack's house.

If you have any questions the day of the event, you can call Jack on his cell phone at (214) 435-4898. See you there!!!

Jack will have his Garage Big Screen tuned to SPEED for the start of the 24 Hour.

Sorry Bob... won't be able to make it up on the rescheduled date. Be sure to share pics... sounds like it will be a great turnout.

Really looking forward to the Hill Country Rally this year. Marty is planning on coming down from Indiana again, this year bringing his '73 2.4L water-methanol injected turbo! . Here is a link to the build if interested....

    I'm considering a high-mod 3.0L (old-school low compression 6.5:1, high boost) turbo swap into mine post-rally.
