    Porsche 911 T - 1970

    Hey guys,

please, I have a 911 T with Karman body, can anybody tell me the differences to a normal 911 Coupe??

Or are there no differences? Because some say Karmanīs are lighter ?!?

The only documented difference I know of is the pan on Porsche (Reuter) bodies were galvanized and the Karmann bodies were not. The rumor has been the Karmann bodies were lighter and had a better fit and finish (to retain the contract to build them), but this is not documented as far as I know.

The production # you show on the lower dash is for a 1971 Karmann coupe, not a 1970 model. The third digit is "1" for 1971 not "0" for 1970. Big job restoring this car, it looks very nice.

The only differences I am aware of are in cosmetic finish out. Karmann left the front compartment black rather than body color. Same for the front and rear lid hinges. Engine compartment was black for both body builds at that time. Very impressive rebuild
