Thumbs up Streets of Willow 1/24

First time I've had a chance to try out my car's new 'set-up' on the track ......

    - Surrounded by snow on the foothills, the day started off cold and clear...

    - Pitted next to Sandy I's very cool Leaf Green '69E

    Thumbs up

All un-taped, packed up, and ready to go home........

    So ......
New torsion bars (from 21x26 to 22x29) all new Elephant poly-bronze bushings, and front monoballs.......

I worked up to and started to consistantly turn about 1 1/2 seconds better then my previous best......

....... with hopefully more to come......

A 'clean' safe day at the track .......

    Cheers

Great pics and good stuff. Throw some Hoosiers or V710's on and you will gain another 2+ seconds
    Thanks,

    Chad,
Never tried Hoosiers, but ran 710's once... fastest tires I've ever run... but went away just as fast.....
Now I'm on RA1's for both street and track, save'n a little money and have'n lots of fun.......

Your hot rod is very ready for Buttonwillow.
    Look'n forward to it Mike.......

    Cheers

Watched you at the bowl Chuck, great line and very smooth, kept some of the big horsepower guys behind you a long time.
Thanks for the great shot of me in the hot pit with my instructor Otto, you can see he is already instructing before we set off! I am on all weather tires and needing an alingment but Otto shaved 3 seconds of my previous best when I ran RA1s. Man is a marvel, few if any people skills but I love him for it.

It was pretty chilly in the morning but warmed up nicely by 10 am it was a fresh 60 degrees in the pits and zero wind. The view of the mountains was sublime and the snow level so low it was tempting to hit the slopes, most of us were dressed for it! Except Magnus, warm but fashionable as always, we played ducks in a row back to LA and the app on the IPhone said we managed 87 mph to the 5 interchange- Magnus, I think the carpool lane is for 2 in a car, not 2 cars in a row!

Great day, thanks again for the photo.

Chuck -- Great to see you on the track again, Bud'.

Christian -- Great to meet you. Love your car. Very impressive lap times on street tires with a bad alignment. By the way, you won a plaque for your Class Win. Lonely at the top, man.

Chris T. - Dude! Next time we need you on the track in the Olive Rocket!

Next up... Feb. 13-14 - Time Trial weekend on the Big Track at Willow.

Next Short Track Series event is March 13-14 at El Toro. I've never been but a 2.1 mile course on the air field?! Sounds AWESOME!

The date you need to save is June 4-6 when POC Time Trial runs the "Roval" at Auto Club Speedway. You can not beat the feeling of flyin' out of NASCAR turn 2 with your foot to the floor in fifth gear! You know Hammond, Dilger and Airth will be running their early 911s too. Don't miss out!

I've decided to live this decade following the words on Chuck's helmet -- "Talk's cheap."

    Til next time...
