    WTB Power Window Switches

Does anyone know where I might be able to get two power window switches with the chrome bezel? Thanks for your help.

Stoddard has them new, I wouldn't trust used as the plastic tabs holding them together very often break, leaving a perfectly good switch useless. They are advertised as sunroof switches, but it is the exact same part, same part number, 901.613.621.00. If this link doesn't get you to the exact item, search by part number.

They don't fit, at least they didn't a few years back. Different size, ETC. Check it out carefully before you order...

    Ordered Switches

Just got off the phone with Paul at Stoddard's. He spent some time retrieving the chrome bezelled switches and took some measurements. Here is what we determined:

    Dimensions in MM:

    Original Switch:
Chrome Bezel: 29x41 Body that inserts into door panel: 19.5x32.3

    Current Switch:
Chrome Bezel: 27x38 Body that inserts into door panel: 19x29

Most likely the current replacement switches will be too small to fit into the original cut-outs, but I ordered a couple to see for sure.

I'll let you know of my findings.

Bought two in June of '95 and one in Jan '06 and all three fit and are on the car working perfectly, at $34.00 each as opposed to $197!! If there are some bad or ill-fitting switches out there, it is certainly important info to add to the collective info bank, but what I've gotten from Stoddard are exact part number as per parts book and exact look and function as originals. Just in case it helps, the chromed surround switches are different (in appearance) from those used up to 71 and those for the 2.4 ie 72 and 73.

The sun roof switch is also different and also uses a different cable connectors.

PS I have pics of all these if it helps

Just went out and measured mine and they are all 27X38. The two others I have, one new and one in pieces, are the same size. So there are size issues, but if it helps, mine are installed in original '72 door panels with electric windows as original equipment, and they fit and more importantly, stay in place in the original cut-outs in the door panels. Also, obviously, the size is so close I never noticed. More info for the collective reference catalog...

    Hey EsGeht

I tried to take a switch apart to paint the bezel with chrome spray paint, but stopped before beaking something. Is there a way to remove the toggle switch button, so that I can just spray paint the bezel?
