Here are my photos and video clips from Friday's open test and tune day.
I hope the racers post some photos from the races and time trials on Saturday and Sunday.

Without giving too much away,
How did Rob D's Singer 911 do?
That would have been worth the drive to Willow,
to watch it perform

Well, he was just there to test the suspension settings which they dialed in for maximum attack through the canyons. They tried the settings on the Streets and went a couple clicks stiffer on the rear anti-sway bar. That was about when I got there and saw him going out for some test laps on the track. They came back in and found that the drop-links on that particular brand of anti-sway bar were not up to the task. The threaded rod ends were too small and broke off between the hex-shaft/turnbuckle and the Heim joint.
They turned a few more laps without a rear sway bar and decided to upgrade to a Rebel Racing sway bar. I left for the big track then to see the cup cars testing.
Rob was nice to talk to about all the cool features of the Singer 911- carbon fiber, chassis reinforcements, etc. He knew my car from the forums and I told him how I saw his '69S run at the Camarillo autocross in 2006. He remembered that event as being fun and we had a nice chat.
It was a relief to know his '69S is still a hot early 911 and was not modified so extensively into that new car.

Here's a video best viewed on a high-speed connection with the sound turned full blast. :)

Why didn't anyone stay and run over the weekend? POC needs more early 911's.
Here's a shot of me on Saturday coming through the Omega.

That orange car won't ever work properly at Willow without a whale tail or bi-plane tail and an RS front end valence. Imagine the front end lift through turn 8 into 9 as is! He should take a look at Mike Hammond's car for the set-up he needs.

Linky no worky.
Were you car #76, the twin to the orange 911 car #118? I noticed #118 sprouted a proper wide wing from the previous IROC tail. I liked the cleaner lines with the spoiler but it is hard to argue with downforce for stability and grip on the fast track. I wonder what he did to balance the front downforce? Increase splitter depth? Air extraction from below the car to on top of the hood?

I would also like to see more early 911s racing like this fast car.
