    Orange badge

I've been wondering for a while why anyone would pay more than core money for a badge that is cracked or has missing enamel, if you are going to send it out for restoration any way. It just seems that people are paying/ asking, stupid money for what I consider are badges that I wouldn't put on my car. I have several flat badges with red enamel that I picked up at swap meets for $20. I'll send those out for restoration, with orange enamel. I understand paying up for a original if the restoration is $300, but to have $450-650 in something that at the end of the day is not actually original, I just don't get.

Has anyone used this this? I have been thinking of re-plating some at home.
