    Rear caliper piston alignment?

I am rebuilding my rear calipers(1971 911S). I just want to be sure I align the pistons correctly. Any comments?

    Thanks

The alignment differs from left to right based on rotation of the rotor and caliper position. Hope this helps.

    Piston alignment

There is an excellent article in the April issue of Excellence magizine titled "brake time" on the subject. Bob Schwartz

Use the bleeder as your guide. Make sure it's on top. Then imagine the rotor running through the gap as the pictures in the second post (our calipers are all in front of the axle).

Looks like you have your template but, for those without; simply align the bottom notch in the center of the pad cavity. This will give you a 20 degree angle. I've modified the picture so you can see what that looks like...

Also, if you want them to be accurate for restoration purposes, have them do a quick dip in the yellow.
