Porsche Special use cars Police fire etc

    Hi to all

What about a post on all the special use cars that you have seen. Police cars will dominate this thread but I think we will see a few interesting versions here. I know the factory had a 911 ST fire car that was used as a quick response car at race tracks. Please add pics and share info.

    Enjoy

There are a number of nice pics of it along with the story of the ONS safety car evolution (911ST/914/928) in 'Herbert Linge: Pionier in Pole-Position' by Wiesner.

    Belgian Police Porsche's

Hereby some pictures of the first series of our National Police (Gendarmerie) Porsche's. The first batch of cars were all 1973 911 E coupé's. At that time most countries using Porsche Police cars did use Targa's.
The first two pictures are B&W of the typical white cars with dayglo red middle striping.
The second picture is clearly taken before delivery at the Gendarmerie as the "911 E" script as well as the second blue gyrophare are missing.
The last pictures is a rather unknown one of an unmarked car. The exact color of this unmarked car is not known yet.
It is very likely that there was only one unmarked car in the first batch of 20 ordered 911 E's.

    Second series Belgian Police Porsche's

In 1976 the Belgian highway police (Gendarmerie) did need new cars to replace the older 911 E Coupe's from 1973.
It was decided to use the "smaller" body of the 911 Targa but equip it with the legendary 1973 Carrera RS 210 bhp engine (type 911/83).
Twenty cars were build with these specifications and delivered to the Belgian Gendarmerie through D'Ieteren.
One of the pictures shows the delivery of the cars to the Gendarmerie at D'Ieteren rue du Mail building.
These cars had a hard life and were known to be kept running during the shift change between two teams of officers. Most of them covered in between 400 and 500 K Km's.
The last picture shows a student officer during his driving education program. All officers had to pass a very difficult driving test, nevertheless some cars were totaled.
Today only two, of this very limited batch of special cars, still remain. One in the D'Ieteren collection and the other one kept in immaculate condition in private hands.
