    Visor Pivot Removal

    I have a very nice original pair of 68 visors, but the outboard chrome pivots are in horrible shape. Can these be removed from the visors? I cannot seem to seperate them from the visors. Is there a trick to it or are they permanently afixed to the visor?

    On my 72, they can. You have to unscrew the trim screw that applies tension for the post. The post has a tab the sticks up about 1/16". That tab has to be rotated to the point where it will fit through a slot. I presume that this slot is where the screw for the tensioner is. I just removed one of mine this weekend, but could not get the other off. You may need to squirt a drop of oil with a dropper into the screw hole to loosen things up.
