Cool looking car. Impressive if it does what they claim. I'm curious to the 918 designation. Doesn't the number designation continue to increase? shouldn't that be a 998 or 1000 or something?

Everything Porsche has put up so far has been a (very nice) computer render. Here's an actual photo of it at the Geneva Motor Show taken today with Walter Röhrl in the passenger seat.

Great proportions. Very taut with the wheels pushed out to the corners and swept-back windscreen. Covered lamps intentionally invoke the 917K (video shows Michael Mauer with a model). Racing heritage in the RS Spyder motor, and possible intent with new ACO Le Mans hybrid rules being finalized. Under 1500 kilos is good for a hybrid, too. Not air-cooled, but I like it anyway! And it's actually a running prototype...

They are trying to draw on the 917. In the video, the designers were constantly playing with a 1:18 Gulf 917 model.

Here's a video of the car, even though it looks 100% CGIs.

narrated rather dramatically by a gent with really big stones: but to me the interseting part is, if anyone noticed, that they are showing this car with a "Classic" early badge, orange / red bars and all.

This is going to be interesting ! I wonder how much influence on the timing of the announcement and showing this car at the Geneva show, Ferrari's press release last week of a successor to the Enzo to be shown next year had to do with this.

Wow! Will this actually see production, or is it just a concept? With those specs, it would have to be a very expensive car--more than the Carrera GT?
