    2.0 to 2.2 upgrade

    am considering in the near future to rebuild my 2.0 1969 T engine.
    while at it i am considering to upgrade its performance whilst remaining with the original matching-numbers case.

    can someone explain to me the pros and cons of wayne dempseys e-cam upgrade and 2.0-2.2 upgrade below. my feel is to go for the 2.2 upgrade.
    (will the 2.2 upgrade give me the same HP (180) and performance as the 1970 2.2S engine??)

    The simple answer is no. Not unless you use the 2.2S pistons, cylinders, cams, heads, distributor and fuel injection system; basically everything outside the crankcase needs to be correct 2.2S parts to equal the 2.2S performance.

    An 'S' compression 2.2 with Solex cams will get yout near 160 HP and is lots of fun.

    I'd recommend going with a "mod" grind like the Mod-E, Mod-S or Mod-Solex. The regrind cost of a normal, E, S or Solex cam is well worth it.
