    67 911 s/r for sale...opinions please

    Hello,

Does anyone have any information on this car for sale that might not be listed in the ad? I'm looking for a 911 with good race history which this one appears to have, I know it's been for sale for a while and I suspect the price is the issue...any opinions? Thank you.

Neat car. Neat history. Would probably get you into the Monterey Historics.

Ad has more than its fair share of "Would've....Could've...Should've..." comments.

    Comparable to this:

Recently listed on this board at $165K

    FWIW

    Interested in other's thoughts...

Sounds like the original engine is long gone:
"1988: Bought by Scott Tyler of Clearwater, Florida. Missing engine and rollbar. Disassembled, restoration started."
How much would that adjust the price?

Most old race cars have been assembled from a beat up, modified chassis. A original engine would be unusual.

Hmmm...The original engine is gone and the roll bar which would have had the brass tag is gone.
Big gaping 30 year hole in the history from 1973 to 2003. Sat in a Body Shop for years. And then bought in pieces in 2003. I'd sure like to know what that means.
I certainly would need definitive proof of its' history before I would lay down my duckets.

All good points, I agree 100%. Two trans am races don't justify the price IMO, don't think he's willing to come down enough to make it work for me. I like the tan S offered by Klubsport but I can't verify it's TA history either.

GS...the same Boss 302 GS? I think we met when some of the NorCal Shelby/Boss guys were down in LA last year maybe at Edelbrock or Knotts or?

    Thanks!

Yes, same GS who restored Parnelli's Boss 302 and several others.
Could have been at both Edelbrock's place and Knotts that we met.
    Refresh me...

I might have been around with my white 66 Hertz, that's the one I usually drive around. I'm buddies with Ferrin, Whitehead, Adams...Run a Camaro with the TA group.
