FS: "ZH" 5th - Ultimate 901 Freeway gear

For sale is the ultimate freeway 5th gear, which is originally a 4 speed 2nd gear "H", which when flipped, gives a 19:32 "ZH" 5th gear on a 901. Synchros and dog teeth look excellent.

Asking $300

This gear, with a 7:31 differential gives 70 MPH at 3000 RPM. This is an amazing solution for a torquey, 2.8L and larger motor that wants to keep up with its later brethren on those long road trips to Treffen.

For example, on a car running a Motronic 3.2, this means you are crusing at 80MPH in the heart of the powerband - no more G50 envy on those long runs!

The most intriguing gearing options with this gear are:

A-F-M-S-ZH, by dropping this into a stock AFMS box. This allows you to shift at from 4th to 5th @ 4500 RPM (70 MPH), and drops you into a nice 3000 RPM cruise @ 70. No more tingly hands at 80 MPH!

B-I-Q-X-ZH, is another intriguing option. This allows you to shift at from 4th to 5th @ 3500 RPM (70 MPH), dropping into the 3000RPM 70 MPH cruise on your way to 3500 RPM and 80 MPH. While it adds cost since it requires a 904 mainshaft, this results in a box with excellent gear splits for all gears, resulting in a setup similar to the factory "fast race" box (CHaOTY), but with longer legs. This box uses common Q (914 gear) and S gears to help keep costs down.

For academic purposes, this is the only 5th for a 901 that can claim a (VERY theoretical) 200MPH top end.
