    WTB single Kobelschmidt piston

    WTB - a single Kobelschmidt piston appropriate for a 1969 2.0L 911T with a P/N 80160.

I'm rebuilding a low mileage orginal engine that has one piston with a cracked skirt and can hopefully find a suitable replacement in very good condition.

    e-mail is best: wbcor@netscape.net

    Thanks, Bill

I have 5 KS 69T pistons. They look very good with tight top ring clearance and unworn skirts. $40 for 1 or $100 for 5. I also have 7 Mahle pistons for same. Thanks Rick.

...some pics of the piston I'm trying to replicate:

Rick, yours look pretty close but appears to have some slight differences.

In case it helps the weights run between 461 and 464 grams for piston, pin and one circlip - no rings. (the pins run between 98 and 99 grams)

The "080160" is shown in the last pic - The number is "upright" when the piston is held "dome-down"

They are different. Yours appear to have a bigger dome, deeper valve cutout and longer skirt. Ill look at my E pistons.

I only have 1 NOS Mahle E piston. I have seen KS 2.0 E sets with cast iron cylinders.

OK, thanks Rick. I'll keep looking - I'm pretty sure it is a 68/69 911T. The 080160 part number matches the reference chart frequently used on this forum. It came out of an engine that appears to never have been opened-up.

I suppose there could have been minor changes in the castings and given the same part number since they are used in sets.

Thanks for looking through your collection.

    Cheers,
    Bill

The 2.0T piston piston that Bill is looking for is the KS option for the 2.0T

Both Mahle and Kobelschmidt supplied pistons for the 2.0T. Bill needs the KS (Kobelschmidt) version.
