And to think that thing was probably lying around somewhere and the guy hauled it away for free.
Wipers correct for a 64 911 ?

Looking at the photographs, it looks (as it is perhaps often the case) as an abandoned restoration project.
It's hard to tell what's really original to the car and has been added or replaced over the years.
The car is a 1964 911 which is rare, but it seems expensive as the original engine is missing and certainly certain body parts and interior parts have been replaced.
At least this one has an engine...

I've contacted the guy, he wants Euro 25,000.- without the engine.

Yes, 50k euros is crazy money for this project which will certainly require another 50k to finish. And since it no longer has its original motor, the car can never be declared original again, even by loose standards. But then again, think about how much Seinfeld spent in order to have the Porsche factory "recreate" the "original" car from a pile of rust, dust and bolts....
To me, the most gratifying thing about bringing an early 911 car back from the dead is driving it once its finished and the shear feeling of driving the car the way it would have felt been back when it was new (or slightly used). In this case, as in Seinfeld's case, that feeling can never really be attained, when knowing that perhaps the VIN and a small percent of the car is still really original. The rest is the attempt by a modern restoration shop to refabricate a car that was hand built and put out by the original factory 50 years ago by people (artisans) who are all now dead and buried.. Good luck trying to recapture that. That's the difference between owning a Jag D type and owning a Proteus.
I guess that makes me a purist... I must be getting old...
There is a 64 case in Norway without a car! Numbers posted in Dave's serial/engine tread.
