Barn find ; need help for pricing !

    Hi,

I found 2 early 911 that the owner want to sell, but he asking me an offer he couldn'y refuse... I have some idea after searching the forum, but I would like more input from you members ! I know it's very tough to estimate without photos, but give me your range separetly...

The first car, is by far the most interesting one : a 67 soft window targa, VIN 5005xx, NICE color combo : black with original red interior, no headrest seats. had been repaint 10-15 years ago. 4.5" fuchs, look to be with is original 2L engine (its an aluminium case with carbs). All trims and grilles are there, stock body. The rear window is shut. The car is sitting for 10 years, but was in runnning condition at that time. Floors and rockers are also supposed to be solid.

The second is a 73 E targa, look to be the original MFI with green shroud engine, that turn but don't run. S trims, no front spoiler bumper, stock Cookie cutter wheels, stock body with all trims and grilles, no details on the interior. Silver paint done 10-12 years ago.

I didn't saw these cars myself, (long drive) I saw small photos of the cars in a car show, from approx 10-12 years ago and they look very good, but I know it can hide a lot of thing ! He was making nice cars I saw 3 slant nose convertible from the 80s and a 80s stock red 930 in is garage, not my style, but they are all well done and nice !

    THANKS for your help !!
    JD

The 66 soft window targa, VIN 5005xx would actually be a 1967 model year, so check the engine type; it could be a normal or an S (the badge in the front trunk would have 911S model type, the stamped VIN would be *5005xxS*, and the paint code badge would show 5005xxS where the S looks oversize compared to the numbers), and the engine would be a 96xxxx serial #. That could make a big difference in value if it all matches. The black paint is nice if original. Best of luck and keep us posted.
