Loved my '82 65K miles but sold it to make way for the 911.

Rick, love the color on that. Do you know where the car is today?

Frank Sprongl lights 'em up on a stage during Targa Newfoundland in his sturdy A2 urq.

Curt, I have to say you really have done a brilliant job transforming your euro spec urquattro into a proper A2 replica ala Curt. Love the straight pipe out the rear, raised rear wing, rear oil cooler (must show a thread on this install) and the flares. Tasty.

Thanks! It's a work-in-progress as they say. Next up is a proper coil-over gravel suspension.

FWIW, these cars were the brainchild of none other than Ferdinand Piech, equaling (surpassing?) his accomplishment with the 917 and transforming Audi into what it is today.

    Curt,

The color is Helios Blue. That was the 85 North American press introduction car. It had many cover shots.

The car is living in Te-has (Texas). Haven't heard word one from the new owner after its sale. Don't know if its still amongst the living - but certainly hope so - funky window switches and all.

Love what you are doing with your UrQs. Keep up the 'unfair advantage',

    Rick

I do miss my 83 Ur Q. The previous owner did a lot of work on it and it ran beautifully. Sure there were some minor electrical problems but overall a solid car. I'll dig up some pics and post soon.

Back in the .com days I had an opportunity to purchase a SWB Ur Q but decided against it because I really wanted a driver and not a queen. With today's prices reaching 200K + it would most certainly have remained locked in a garage.

BTW - those Dahlbäck cars are crazy fast and a nice alternative to the Sport Q for less $$
