Local ex-SCCA Pro Rallye ur-quattro shell waiting for media blasting. Used to be John Buffum's, then was Pat Ayer's. Crashed heavily into a tree and has been saved since.

Thompson! What, where, when, who, and how? We need more details on that one.

It's at my friends media blasting shop http://www.finishsolutionsvt.com in Milton, VT about 12 mi north of JBs shop.

The shell is really, really rough and was hit HARD up front. Loads of work to do.

I snapped these off Nov 2009. I haven't stopped by to see the progress yet, I'll update soon.

    Remaining details PM'd...

    Nice vid! Observations:

    1. Walter brought the wrong driving suit and gloves (Martini-Porsche ).
    2. Odd steering wheel for an A2.
    3. Cool Matter sunvisors.
    4. Walter's not shy about wringing out a priceless museum piece in the snow!

A few rare pics of some road racing - - quattros from the 1986 SCCA Escort Endurance Series. Buffum was co-driving one of the cars.

Color is Amazon Blue. My old 1984 urquattro VIN #919 was this color.

MoF, in 1984 Audi imported ONLY 64 of the urqs to the states.

This example you show VIN #1074 looks to be solid, in original condition and still has the original build sticker hanging in the trunk!!! Kricky, this is a really GOOD find for only $11,500 with only a light 48k mi.

Below is me in my old 1984 #919 urq and the original window sticker.
