70's vintage Balupunkt Berlin stalk radio

I didn't want to sell this radio, but the new engine for my 911 means I have to dig up some more cash.

This was the state of the art in car audio circa 1977. The system is made up of an amplifier unit, a dash mounted cassette recorder/player and a "space-age" stalk mounted head unit. It even includes the uber-rare microphone for dictating notes while you storm the alps in your early 911.

This unit sold new for $1,100.00 in 1977!

Unit has only been tested to power up. It powers up, lights all work, cassette player functions seem to work (ff/rew, dir change). Tuner selector works. However, I did not have an antenna or a speaker to fully test the output of the radio. I have no reason to believe that there is any problems, but I cannot guarantee this.

    Asking $300 plus shipping.

In response to a question over on the Pelican board....

There are no knobs. Those are simply studs that you use to mount the tape deck into your standard opening. They are shorter than the traditional voume and balance studs.

All of the volume and balance controls are operated through the stalk. Cool eh?

I do not have a faceplate, but from what I can see, once you have it bolted in place, you would just glue some dash facia vinyl in place and the "knob" areas would be hidden. Worst case, if they do protrude slightly, you would glue the vinyl in place and have some simple black caps covering the mounting studs.

That is a way cool setup. My buddy in high school in 1979 has a 911 sc and that system was in it. Huge dollars, but radios back then cost a great deal of money.
