    Silver's 1st Day

It's been a long time and still much to do before it's finished. Put a tad short of 150 miles on it today and will do some tweaking tomorrow. Sits a little low - 24" in front and 25" in rear. A little tire rub and the SC tow hooks on the front A Arms grate a little on bumps. Weighed in at 2,274 pounds with a half tank of gas when it was corner balanced yesterday. Reading was 49.7 before I got in and then a perfect 50 with me in the drivers seat. Here are some pics I just took. Engine has a cosmetic detail that bothers me so I did not take one of it. Extremely fast, tons of torque, very loud. First car I've ever driven that I have not yet pegged it. Went on my favorite twisty road (Little Refuge near Waleska, Ga. - look at it on google maps). In my S and 968 I was always shifting between 2nd and third and doing some hard braking. This thing just grunts it out in third, enough throttle braking that all you have to do is drive with your right foot. Lots of detail work to do, especially in the interior. Will post the specs one of these days. See some of you all in Helen this Weekend for Kurven von Georgia. This thread is not for purists.

That car is a beast! Would the "cosmetic detail" happen to be the ugly crossover pipe on top of the motor that is needed to keep heat in an early car with a 3.6?

Nicely done Bill, been waiting patiently to see this monster finished. Geez, that motor will rip those tires right of those steelies.
Have a great time at the Spring Rally in Helen this weekend. Wish I could be chasing you through the twisties like TOTD last spring.

Are those steel lugs ? I`ve never had a monster motor in a Porsche, I know track racers use steel lugs instead of the alloy ones! Cool looking Porsche........Cliff P.S. very hard to beat silver on a Porsche!

VERY NICE Bill!! Like the clean look, the steelie space savers look great, are they 15's or 16's? Love the ride height and the period look with the taller tires, or am I getting the taller visual thing due to some 16's?

    More pics please!
