    Barn find Sorta

To be accurate it was an outside the barn find under a tarp and the entire left side and hood had been stripped to bare metal and left. Not a pretty sight .We purchased it to restore for my lovely bride of 28 years. At least thats OUR story and we are stickin to it .My 16 year old son would not leave me alone until I bought this. It was way past death but we took the plunge anyway.
I found a fresh 2.7 CIS to replace the Melba ( toasted ) 2.4 MFI. I know some will wish to have me excommunicated or worse but it was what I could afford. After reading Mr Dempseys book I had an idea of the mods needed and the 2.7 had them. Carrera oilers .Racepack studs , Timecerts ETC.With the help of my "patient assistant " as the Haynes manual likes to state we have gone through brakes, trans, interior motor , and bodywork and have her running and dependable .I could not have done it without the help of Pelicanites and some of you here. I thank you all. " The Black Pearl " as my wife calls her is still a work in progress but the miles of smiles she provides never end.
I have used this forum and others to sell off extra parts to do this restomod and also thank you all for that help. And other than a recent bump in the road here all purchases and sales have been flawless. My respect for these machines grows daily and as an engineer my findings of how they are designed amazes me . Even small things such as the 14 pin connectors design to modify and change it without hacking is a sign of quality seldom found.
I do wish Bentley could provide manuals for this year range for the next guy but with the mass of help and info here and on pp makes it possible. In closing thank you all and Happy Motoring.

Well done! Though as you know they are never truly "finished". Great before and after. Looks like you also had some nice stuff to start with in the RS steel bumpers and trim, and nice wheels etc. What was the original color.

    Cheers,
    Eric

From what I saw from the first three pictures, I wasn't expecting the what was in the fourth and fifth. Add a "very" to the "well done."

But tell me...what's the insurance like on the Judge with a 16 year-old son in the household

    Thanks for the kind words

Original is the brown in photos. I am not sure of the name . Hagertys insurance is $350 per year. Son is still using learners and he is free until he gets his operators .I was not aware bumpers were RS , Thanks . We did all the work ourselves including new interior and painting in our home shop . The other end of the scale is my $200 Beast I have had for 32 years . 505 cubes 800 HP , glass frontend and 400# lighter. Can you say power to weight ratio ? " NUTHIN FANCY ". We could not have done it without help.

Glad to see you and your son "saved" one that would otherwise have reverted back to iron oxide. The best part is that I imagine your son is learning some valuable lessons that will serve him well later in life.
