    Excellence magazine price guide

Like everyone else, I love the magazine and cannot wait for the next issue to hit my mailbox. I have always wondered why the values on the early 911 cars seems so unrealistic compared to market sales. I mean outstanding S cars can go in the 70's and 80,s but I have never seen that stated in the values. They rate the cars from poor, good to excellent., and with that huge varience, I am confused how the excellent cars are valued so low.

    Am I missing something?

This issue has been argued endlessly both here and on Pelican.

The results are truly only a snapshot of what people send to Bruce, if they don't send sales results in he can't reflect the numbers in Excellence. He won't use ebay results either, too much chance for fake bids to enter into his database.

So, if you want the pricing to reflect what we all truly believe then send results that you know of from personal purchases and sales into Bruce.

Note that I just sold my 67S Aga blue soft window targa yesterday, and will send the results into Bruce.

    regards,

    E

The trick is to buy them for what Bruce says they are worth, and sell them for what the market will bear

Bad science in a yearly full color, four page spread. His son's car renderings are nice though. I say more renderings and less made-up numbers.

Hey Eric. I thought Bruce would be kind of "hooked up" with current quality sales information. Now that I know this, I will email him, from time to time with some reputable sales information.

It would be cool to see these figures be more accurate. Perhaps, we could all help a bit with this.

    Thanks,

    John

Good luck, the guys on the 993 forum have been complaining about the perceived vs actual of their cars since he started doing these pieces for excellence."don't confuse me with facts, I made up my mind"

    Lightbulb

    Erik is right,

As been said many times before, Bruce can only reflect the hard proved numbers sellers/buyers give'm........ Buy or sell a top flight Early car and send Bruce the proof..... it's the only way these numbers will EVER reflect reality.

BTW Jim, I believe artist Steve Anderson is no relation to author Bruce......

    Cheers

Steve is not Bruce's son. Actually Steve is the brother of member Brad Anderson. Note that Steve once owned one of the most stunning cars I've seen, which was a red 69S soft window targa, all original, with red/black/white houndstooth inserts in a red interior..
