The Anobrite website is down and no answer on the phone. I have used these guys in the past and they were great. Does anyone have an alternative to refinish my window frames and do some chrome plating? Thanks very much guys.

Just as PORSCHE is fond of saying in their ads......."there is no substitute", so there really isn't a viable alternative for what Ano-Brite do (in my opinion).
The Company has been renamed ( still at the same old address and phone number) and you can reach Marcos via kingoftrim@gmail.com. You'll have a difficult time getting him on the phone, but if you leave a message for him, he's very conscientious about calling back the same day.....he's never failed me. E-mail is best. It's a small shop and everyone works.
In fact I just sent him some stuff yesterday and was told it would be 7-10 working days.

Seems like his website is down, not sure.
The company is now called "The King of Trim". Marcos has just brite dip anodized and chromed some parts for a 72 911S and a 66 Shelby GT 350 for me. His work is beautiful. Marcos also did the trim on Tom Scott's 69S that was recently posted for sale. Marcos' phone number is 818-326-6924.

He is very expensive, but the work is usually top notch as long as he double checks it before it is sent out.
The website might be down, .... but the blog lives !!!

After what seemed like a long wait, even with the assurances that we received after placing a few polite calls for progress reports, we opened our package of ten window frame bits and pieces today. We were all excited about the prospect of seeing the work described so positively in the posts above.
The bottom line? Batting .300 in the Majors is phenomenal, but we are not impressed with only three of the ten pieces being acceptable. Clearly, the seven scratched pieces will be returned. However, we have not yet had the courtesy of a call back from the "King" to discuss the issues at hand.
We will certainly keep all informed of the resolution process.

I converted my frames and other pieces back to alumn about a year ago. Previous owner had done a total color change and went to black trim. They scuffed the aluminum and painted it. I used paint remover first, then oven cleaner to remove the annodized surface. It helps to heat the trim up with a propane torch, but not too hot. Then I used a good 1 hp buffer to return them to shiney silver. Some wax and they look as good a new. They haven't tarnished quickly as some suggested and it will be a good excuse to spend some quality time in the garage when they do need to be touched up.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.
