RM has its first auction in Monaco on May 1st in conjunction with the Historic Gand Prix. There are a couple topical cars on the block...

1971 Porsche 911 S/T - Estimate $394,000 - $435,000. Raced by Bjorn Waldegard; one of the five cars built for the 1971 East African Safari Rally; participated at 2007 Porsche Rennsport Reunion and 2009 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.

That 2.8 RSR is fabulous. Makes you want to build one!

The RSR is 9113600865 and is owned by an italian collector since circa 15 years ago. Does anybody know its racing history or have period photos?

I would love to get my hands on that RSR and restore it correctly. Strip out that roll cage. Rebuild right side of dash. get correct seats in there, close holes in bumper, remove stupid pins that hold bonnet and paint it in factory colours. I dont think it should be in a glass cage but this car is a bit sad for me. I likethem the way they were....
I just realised the dashbottom has been cut off. That means the dash number is not there anymore!!! Not my idea of perfect

Both the ST and the 2.8 RSR remained unsold, the 959 sold above estimate at circa $280k
