    Morro Bay . . .

These shots were taken at The 356 Club's North South Meet, held in Morro Bay California this past week-end.

Great show, beautiful weather. I forgot how laid-back and relaxed this show is. Used to have a beater T5 Roadster to drive here. Most of the cars that show up are pretty spectacular, but I always felt welcome. Nice people, approachable, ready to answer questions and tell stories. And some of the cars! . . . .

    First up, a Rometsch . . .

Nice attention to detail, both the resto and your choice of shots. This non-911 content might be Off-Topic, but thanks for sharing!

    '51 Split-window . . .

. . . body-bumper car --- 1 of ~1750 cars of this type built --- back when Porsche was still thinkin' about maybe building cars. Or not. Compare this to any contemporary Buick or Chevy or Cadillac. (Must've seemed like a space ship.) And all before Interstates. Very early 1500cc car --- one of the 1st 20.

Car was found in Palos Verdes, California. I remember Craig Stevenson showing me polaroids of it, like, 20 years ago, still with its original interior. Ray Crosno brought it back . . . and brought it here.

    Intruder Alert! . . .

A beautiful car --- color caught my eye from WAY off, but . . . . just a kit car of some kind. Stunning colors, still.

Beautiful day, great show. Lots of cars, lots of friendly people. And more than a few original and un-restored cars, too. (My favorite.) 356s are tough, tough cars.

Makes me wanna go out and get that Notch I've always wanted.
