    1968 911s question..

I have a 68s that I'm trying to find out a bit more info about. Do all 68s models have the factory reinforced harness attach points or was that an option?

Thanks Rob-so only the early S' models came with the upper and lower harness attach points also or did all the models from the early years come with these?

My '68 912 has 'em. The lower ones in your photo are seat belt anchors, no?

The last pic are attachment's for luggage brackets. Starting in 68 911's had belt attachment brackets on the package tray. MY 67 has all of the above but those.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.

A couple of those mounting points are also for the luggage strap brackets, if you weren't aware. Is your car a Sportomatic?

This car is an S. It's a project so I'm still figuring out what I have. So the thin brackets on the front of the shelf are for luggage.the reinforced brackets on the of the shelf are for harnesses?..what are the threaded attachments on the rear shelf and the lower rear fenders and just above the transmission tunnel for?

Those receivers on the wheel arch and by the shift coupler are also present on the Normal.

Thin brackets on the vertical piece below the seats are for the luggage straps.

Threaded receivers by the shift coupler and on the wheel arch are for seat belts.

Okay, I think I'm getting it. The threaded HOLES on either side of each rear seat are for the lap belts for the rear? The threaded receiver (the sticks out) on the side by the wheel well is for the FRONT seats?

Sorry-I'm not an expert on the early 911 and when I saw another thread with a similar car to mine and folks got excited about his reinforeced harness straps I thought perhaps I too had a sporto model. I thought the threaded receiver that sticks out on the fender well was possibly a receiver for a roll bar. Hey, I can dream can't I??!!

Are you really sure its a "S" , Porsche did not export the "S" in 1968. We got the "L", a S trim spec car, w/o the S motor. If its truly a S then it was imported as a used car at a later date. Can you post a picture of the VIN, or do you have a COA.
