    Yes, RHD with shifter on the right. I believe all 956s were like that. The drivers were mostly used to left hand drive, shift with right hand but for the protoype racers from the 907 on Porsche put the driver on the right for weight distribution advantages. 917 were like that, too.

    I also heard it was because most race circuits are clockwise,and it is an advantage to have the driver on the inside for taking the turn.

    That's what I meant with the better weight distribution= the driver weight on the inside of the turn.
