    Fule pumps for MFI cars

Does any one know who might have new stock of a fuel pump for a for a 2.4 MFI car?

Here's a link to a thread on Pelican:
    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...onversion.html

I purchased a new pump from eBay, but not certain if this works correctly so can't recommend that route. I understand that Zim's sells a pump that provides the correct pressure, but does not include a return line.

    Fuel pump for MFI

I am selling a MFI fuel pump substitute that is an exact fit for the 001 Bosch MFI pump but is constructed from A Volvo Turbo fuel pump, a pressure regulator, and Aeroquip internal connections. Unlike Zim's my setup has three ports (one tank return) and fits into the existing mounting hardware on the car. contact me at pgeorge911@aol.com or ask for Peter at 952 835-9969. This is a quality setup if you need a MFI pump and are not into a concourse replacement. All parts are new and the price is substancially less than a rebuilt Bosch MFI pump. Peter

Bosch literally just started manufacturing new units again. Not cheap at $750US, but they are brand new, built in 2010. PM Bob Aines as he knows the details and where/how to get them. Not sure who is stocking them yet...they may only be available directly from Bosch Historic at this time.

I just got a call about this thread since I was mentioned as a source. To set the record straight Kenik got much of our conversation from Treffen correct which is amazing as alcohol was involved.

At Essen I spoke with the folks from Bosch Classic and Porsche Classic. Bosch Classic did not show much interest.
Porsche Classic had fuel pumps on display. I was told that they would be added to the Porsche Classic catalogue in the next 6 weeks or so. Price was about 575 Euros. These are NOT being manufactured for Porsche by Bosch, which may have something to do with the lack of interest from Bosch.
Neither I nor Zuffenhaus/Eurowerks is a source for these parts, they will available thru your local Porsche dealer or Porsche Classic.

See, Bob, I was paying attention (sort of)...kind of hard with a 962 engine staring me in the face at fingernails length.

Thanks for the info guys...I will start harassing Porsche Australia in a month or so.

I heard Bosch would do it but minimum was 2000 units...I was doing the sums to see if I could make a business out of selling fuel pumps now I don't have to worry.

    MFI fuel pumps

    Clyde,
Check with Al or Spencer at Parts Heaven - a couple of years ago I got a remanufactured pump from them. Was on an exchange basis (via a 3rd party) - you exchange your defective pump for their remanufactured pump + $350. This was for a 2.4S pump (as you know pressure / flow vol differs between T, E and S.)
The pump I received was identical to the one I exchanged, but looked like new and of course, worked like new!
No issues with the pump 2 years + and counting.
Hopefully they are still offering this service.
    Cheers,
    Gary

Don't know where you can get new pumps....... sorry

However, the rebuilding/exchange deal is still going strong at:
    http://www.fuelinjectioncorp.com/

The cost used to be about $350 with exchange.....

    Hope this helps
