    917 Brakes FS (at auction)

Thought this might be of interest to those who have to have the trick parts - at auction by Coys in London.... assuming they are the real deal...

BTW - they are also auctioning off a couple of 2.2 911S's
    1971 911E
    1964 26R (narrow arch)
    1965 26 GTS ( sold to fund 911E restoration)
    1965 912 ( sold to pay for 26R head)

Are those from a 917 or an earlier 906/908/910 etc??

The calipers on the left look like very early 911S, and nothing fancier.
The calipers on the right look like Girling's for the 917 though.

The 917 used a few different calipers during its run. The calipers at auction are early calipers and like the mentioned 906/908/910.

Later 917 calipers were used on the 2.8 RSR. These calipers had different fining as they were developed. The 930 caliper was similar but of different manufacture.

These photos are of reproduction 917/RSR calipers, the second has the RSR parking brake.
