    Palos Verdes Concours d'Elégance 09/19/10

    Greetings,

I am the class manager for 911s in this year's concours, pls see all details at www.pvconcours.com

Looking for a few great early 911s for the class which includes cars up to the 1985 model year; cars can be restored or original condition. Note that judging is according to the strict Classic Car Club Concours rule book.

This year's show theme is German, so this is not only a Porsche show! Other brands are allowed, though there will a 356, 911, and a racing car class of about 10 cars each.

Please contact me if interested, but I need a commitment by the first week of June if you will participate with a judged entry.

    Thanks

    anyone going

    anyone planning on attending?

I believe John A., Will S., and Dave E., Nick R. (in his Alpina) have their cars entered to be judged?

There is a German Car Corral. Pasted from the pvconcours website:

    GERMAN AUTOMOBILE CORRAL
A special feature of this year's Palos Verdes Concours D'Elegance is the German Automobile Corral. This special parking area, adjacent to the main Concours field, offers preferred parking for all German cars. Owners of every type of German car from a new Mercedes Benz, Porsche, BMW to a vintage Borgward or Volkswagen are welcome to park their cars in the Corral.

This is a great opportunity for German Car Clubs from throughout Southern California to park together in the Corral and spend a day honoring the history of these exciting automobiles. This also provides Concours spectators with the opportunity to view the wide array of fascinating German cars.

There is $50.00 fee to park in the corral that includes admission for one person. $25 for each additional passenger. Register on line.

    Thumbs Up to the Terranea

My wife and I arrived in LA today for the Palos Verdes Concours being held on Sunday. We're staying at Terranea Resort which is two miles from the Trump National Golf Course, the venue where the show is being held.

I talked to the staff here and told them I was a little worried about security for my car and they came through in spades. As it turns out, Terranea Resort also includes a real estate development with condos and villas. They led me to one of the empty units, handed me the garage door clicker, and told me to go ahead and park my car there. That's what I call great customer service!

I can even work in there to try and get my modest entry to a level that might be a worthy competitor. I need all the help that I can get given that this is the epicenter of cool cars in the U.S.

The wife is going to the spa - time for me to get to the garage!

    Cheers,

    John,

Those who have seen your 911 would NOT call it a modest entry

    You car kicks ASS.
Are you doing the rally tomorrow?

Several of us will be in the corral, several of us have cars being judged.

See you Sunday..I'll be in the corral

    Event Coverage?

I heard the event was wonderful.

Does anyone have any photos or results to share with those of us who couldn't/didn't make it?

I'm curious who won the 911 class as well as Best of Show.

Also, corral photos would be awesome as well.

    Thanks!

Really an outstanding show: great setting, great weather, well organized - and a lot of great cars. First in Class in the 911 class was won by Will Sanchez with his outstanding '73 white 911S Coupe. Perfectly restored, correct and perfectly prepared. My '67 rally build was second.

My wife and I had a great time. We really enjoyed staying at the Terranea Resort, just a couple of miles away. I'm thinking of entering again next year, maybe my fresh '68 911L Tangerine Soft Window Targa.

    Cheers,
