    Laguna Seca ALMS Race 2010

    Here are my photos and videos from the ALMS Race at Laguna Seca. 6 hours of chilly breezes but a good result:

    Flying Lizard Motorsports' 997RSR won GT2 (with BMW second) at the hands of drivers Patrick Long and Joerg Bergmeister.

    Black Swan Racing's 997GT3 Cupcar won the GT-C class driven by Tim Pappas and Jeroen Bleekemolen, the Dutch Porsche Supercup champion. Is that Tim Pappas related to Carolynn Pappas of the Porsche Owners Club?

    BSR's 997GT3 Cupcar led all 6 hours, after starting on pole position. Jeroen Bleekemolen had the fastest GT-C lap at 1.27.279.

    Since we're slightly "Off-Topic" with Moderns at the Laguna ALMS race, here's another fun Porsche back-story. During a re-start in Saturday's Patron Cup GT3 race, my pal Rich Walton in the Mercer Motorsports/Jerry Woods Enterprises car (#76) was rear-ended and heavily crashed in Turn 11. Big Ron Gruener and the JWE crew set to work and re-built the car in time for the Sunday race, where Rich started from the back of the pack. This gave him the opportunity to charge up through the field and win the Yokohama Tires "Hard Charger" award. Super work by the JWE crew both on and off the track.
