    Circle of Excellence: JUNE 12th!!

    WHEN: Saturday, June 12th

WHERE: Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point (where the 356 show is every year)

WHAT: PCA Concours and Car Show with a special exhibit called the Circle of Excellence which will include past feature cars from the pages of Excellence magazine.

According to the flyer, field access and car positioning starts at 6:30am We probably won't get there that early, but if anyone wants to come along and get a caravan started then POST UP!!

If you want to just meet down there then that's cool, too.

Hopefully we'll see everyone on Saturday.

Several of us are meeting at Cars and Coffee.
(we are not in the Circle, going as spectators)

after C&C, drive down the 5 to DP!

Does anyone know if there is a corral on the lawn?
Parking is limited on the street, or pay the Marriot
    Hotel parking rates!

There is no Corral as far as I know, but I know they are looking for additional attendees so I suppose the organizers would be receptive to an "Early S Reg." or "R Gruppe" parking lot ... errr ... corral ... on the lawn.

There will be two or three other cars coming with me so it would be nice to know they have a spot on the lawn, too.

    Parking update!!

There has been some concern as to the parking availability at Satruday's event. I e-mailed the PCA about this and here is the response that I recieved:

    All are welcome --
The Concours event always includes a display class (affectionately referred to as "Park and Party Class by club members) to have parking on the field are separately away from both the judged cars and the Excellence presentation. The annual 356 event is the same way. The fee for Display class is $30 (register/credit card pay via web motorsportreg.com). There will be limited parking also for public @ $10, but adjacent, not on the field.

    Cheers, thanks for participating

So, suffice it to say that there's going to be plenty of space to park your Porsche on the lawn. It's a bit pricey at $30, but the venue is gorgeous and the cars are Porsches so carpool with someone and split the cost. It's a worthwhile expense.

    See you there!

It looks like there will be Porsche parking for $10. I emailed the concours chairman with his response pasted below.

    Hi Dick,

Some of us in the Rgruppe will be bringing our early 911's after cars and coffee. Is there a corral or parking for us spectators.

    Sam and Lori

    Hi Sam,

Next to the “judged” field, to the east of the trees (see attached diagram), will be public parking at $10/car. In that area we will set up a Porsche corral. There will be about 15 cars
from the Riverside Region that will be parking in the corral, also.

    See you Saturday.
