    FYI: clear 911 windshield availability.

Located a source Ira @ 1-800-345-4527, they are in stock. Made in S Africa $575 delivered to New Mexico. Interesting side note he told me Hollywood must have clear when filming certain shots that's why this company makes.

Mark, these wouldn't happen to be Sigla or Sekurit brand would they?

I spoke the folks at Stoddard's not long ago and they carry both clear and tinted Sigla branded windshields. The price was in the low $500 range if I remember correctly. They were out of the tinted ones, but were expecting a mid May shipment.

No Ed just a no name. I checked with Stoddard and every other source I could Google up a few weeks ago and only available was tinted with top band, No clear and non expected at any place including Stoddard even though they show clear available on their website. I may have spoken to wrong salesman if Nick is correct.

Mark, Nick, I know that sometimes in talking to sales people you need to be very specific about what you want. I know that you can still get a 911 Sigla/Sekurit windshield, but it will come with the antenna and new style mirror mount. The last we talked to Stoddard (a month ago) they had gotten some aftermarket (read China I'm sure) EARLY 911 windshields with Sigla logo, but there was a fit, quality problem, and they were unacceptable. Hopefully they will get this sorted out in the future.

Agree 100% Ed that's why I phoned Stoddard and asked questions when I noted clears were available @ a decent price in lieu of just clicking 'add to cart'. The salesman concern when pushed a bit was that there was a SLIGHT tint that WAS noticeable and did not sound very enthusiastic overall so I took a pass.

So is there a source where someone can buy a new clear front windshield replacement?? I'm surprised you can order this windshield from Porsche as they are the same from 1964-1998. WOW-34 years! But obviously I do understand the 993 windshield has antenna hookups, but does anyone know if Porsche sells these clear windshields?

I thought Stoddard was just buying bulk orders from Pilkington and having the Sigla logo incribed on it. I bought one from them a year ago that way and it worked great. Are they not still doing this?

    FYI Clear 911 windshield availability

I bought a clear 911 windshield from Dave at TRE, fit fine, made in China?
$300 plus. A lot better than my old pitted one.

I just bought a tinted with blue band from Safelite for $126 picked up. I run a vinyl windshield banner anyways, so the blue tint band will not be seen not that I mind it.. It only weighs 8 pounds more than my crappy, pitted, sandblasted Lexan windshield I took out. I'll never do that again.
    Thanks,
