Found a deep 6 wheel with 7/68 date Stamp?

I thought the biggest wheels Fuchs made for early 911's were 5 1/2 x 15's. So would this wheel have come from a 1968 911R or the 2.0 911S for the 1969 model year?

Crazy things happened at the factory all the time. I had a .04 wheel that was a deep 6. It was before I knew better to hold onto such an aberration, for historical interest if nothing else, but it was swindled away from me by someone (someone we all know) claiming it to be nothing special for $250... he sold it for $1K on eBay a few weeks later, even used my pics.

7/68 date would be right for a early 69. The 6R are usually dated in 67 and the number ends with ink stamp 03. I have not seen any with the forging numbers still on them.
The regular early 6s end with forged in 06.
A misstamped 6X15 with 04 (5.5 number)would only be worth more money in my opinon if it had a 67 date and/or evidence of a ink stamp. We have had many misstamped wheels come in but not seen valuable ones.

Yes, We have been adding an inch to 7s on the inside to fit under narrow bodies. Right now we are in the process of making some 8s by adding an inch to the outside of a 7 for RS/SC fenders. I'll try to post some photos.

I would love to see some good pics. I have 7s all the way around with 225s on the rear of my narrow 73T but am going to SC flares, hope to get them on this weekend.

Car now, with -1.7 camber and 23.9 inch ride height in the rear. Could do spacers or could have the wheels widened.

Hmmm....so, how wide do you feel you can comfortably make them?
