San Francisco to Santa Barbara weekend

    Hello all,

The wife and I are heading to Santa Barbara for a wedding this weekend.
We'll be going 1 to 246 to 154. Looks like some cool wineries on the 246.
Any "must see" places on this route? Not to familiar with this area so any help
    appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

Cold Spring Tavern on a sunday around noon is a must. great road taking the old stage coach road up san marcos pass. plus you will have the best tri tip bbq sandwiches, hear great music and see lots of cool cars and bikes.

    Dave,

Downtown San Luis Obispo is worth a drive through.
Los Alamos on the 154 between 101 and 246 has wine tasting, shopping, and outdoor eating.
Matte's Saloon on the 154 in Los Alamos, used in the movie "Sideways" a few years ago.
Chumash Casino on the 246 between Solvang and the 154 is a high quality casino.
Downtown Solvang on the 246, a little commercial but worth a drive through.

Alma Rosa Winery on Santa Rosa Road outside Buellton, great pinot noirs and beautiful setting

Hitching Post in Buellton for oak wood grilled steaks, dinner only

In my experience, Hwy 1 south of Lompoc and Hwy 154 are well patrolled with radar...
