    RS deck lid?

    Found this deck lid, which comes from the old 911 race car. It is a steel-framed versiion. Could it be an original from a 911 Carrera RS?

    A better detail picture of the latch pin brace would help...

    I found that more metal framed FRP tails I've looked at were indeed real then fake... or 'made up'.

    The factory made a few thousand of the tails between late '72 through '76 (with the 'G' and 'H' models having no rear license light holes.) Including replacement spares. They also made very few alloy framed tails.

    The job of bonding an after market FRP tail on a factory frame that has been separated from it's spot welds, then making the marriage it look 'right' and presentable is a real challenge. However, there are a few who have done this through the years very well.
