    Carmel Concours CANCELLED

    I heard about this the other day, I guess it's
    official

    From Sports Car Market

    SCM has learned that the very popular Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours will not be held this year.

    After presenting it for three years, to excellent reviews from the car community, concours owners Doug and Genie Freedman were forced to cancel it due to the challenging economy and difficulty securing sponsorships.

    The Freedmans, longtime friends of SCM, have a reputation for presenting the Concours at a very high standard for participants and audience alike. Freedman, in a phone call to SCM yesterday stressed that "we have paid all of our bills, and don't owe anything. We've always tried to do everything the right way."

    Freedman emphasized that should financial conditions improve he hopes to revive the Carmel-by-the-sea Concours in 2011.

    Carmel

    That`s a real shame.We had a great time there last year and they did in fact do a very nice job.Sold the Blue car,Ray,but was looking forward to seeing you again.Tom
